When hearing word "Zombie", we'll thing about undead that come back to life. Zombie in Yu-Gi-Oh! is the first archetype that can swarming field from graveyard. Since Plaguespreader Zombie released, Zombie seems to focused on Synchro Summoning. Then comes Shiranui, a Zombie-based Archetype that really focused on special summoning. And just like we know, Zombie need many monster in graveyard to do a heavy swarming, so Lightsworn is a good mechanic to make that happen. Plus with Foolish-Burial-like effect from Gozuki and Uni-Zombie, we'll get so many zombies in graveyard. So Shiranui, Lightsworn, and other Zombie-related support will make a good combo. About Shiranui Archetype

You can read about Lighsworn in Dinosaur-Lighsworn Deck post. So this section will tell you about Shiranui archetype. Shiranui is an archetype consisting of Fire-Zombie monsters with 0 DEF. Each member's English name is an alliteration of the letter S. This archetype is based from a ghostly phenomenon from the Japanese folklore of Kyuushuu, as a reference to both their Type and Attribute. In terms of appearance, Shiranui monsters appear to be a clan that forge, bless, and wield swords possessed by spirits in order to gain the spirits' power.

Normally, Zombie will weakened if faced banish-effect cards like Macro Cosmos or Dimensional Fissure. All non tuner Main Deck monster has second effect that will activate if they banished, even from deck. so card like Golden Sarcophagus can be good for Shiranui. The only tuner, Shiranui Spectralsword, has Vayu-like effect. We can banish this card and one non tuner zombie monster in graveyard to special summon one Zombie Synchro Monster whose level equals total Level of those monsters. Although this isn't treated as Synchro Summon, you can summon monster that normally need special Synchro Material, like Archfiend Zombie-Skull. The weakest Synchro Monster, Shiranui Samuraisaga, can recycle a banished Zombie monster and will weaken opponent monster ATK by 500 points if banished. The second Synchro Monster, Shiranui Shogunsaga, is a heavy damage dealer. This card can banish Zombie monster from graveyard to boost his 3000 ATK by amount equal to banished monster's ATK, this even better when you target a Shiranui monster with this effect. The biggest monster, Shiranui Sunsaga, can reshuffle any number of Zombie Synchro, either in graveyard or banished, then destroy opponents cards equals number of returned cards. Plus we can protect zombie monster from being destroyed by banishing Shiranui monster from graveyard, saving monster plus activating the banished monster effect.

Shiranui Zombie Lightsworn Play-style

Just like any Zombie deck, sending as much cards as possible to graveyard with Lightsworn, Uni-Zombie, or Gozuki, then swarming the field with effect of Mezuki or Lightsworn effect. Also banishing Shiranui monsters or Giant Rex with Fairy Tail - Snow effect. Then we can go for Link summon, Synchro summon, or even XYZ summon. Shiranui Zombie Lightsworn Deck Tips and Combos

Combo #1

Cards needed : Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio and any random monster in hand

1. Normal summon Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio, then use its effect to send one monster from hand to graveyard, then special summon Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra from deck.
2. Use Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra effect to add Brilliant Fusion from deck to your hand
3. Use both Predaplant Monster to XYZ summon M-X-Saber Invoker, then use his effect to special summon Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades from deck
4. Use M-X-Saber Invoker and Thousand Blades monsters to link summon Missus Radiant
5. Activate Brilliant Fusion then fusion summon Gem-Knight Seraphinite by sending Performage Trick Clown and Gem-Knight Garnet from deck to graveyard
6. Special summon Trick Clown from graveyard then take 1000 damage
7. This will trigger Thousand Blades effect, special summon him from graveyard
8. Use Missus Radiant, Seraphinite, and Thousand Blades to Link summon Curious, the Lighsworn Dominion
9. Send Glow-up Bulb from deck to graveyard with Curious, the Lighsworn Dominion effect
10. Special summo Glow-up Bulb by sending one card from top deck
11. Use Trick Clown and Glow-up Bulb to Synchro summon HI-Speedroid Chanbara

1. Normal summon Shiranui Solitaire, then tribute him special summon Uni-Zombie from deck
2. Use Uni-Zombie 2nd effect to increase his level by one by sending Gozuki from deck to graveyard, so Uni-Zombie's level become 4
3. This will trigger Gozuki 2nd effect, banish Solitaire to special summon Mezuki from your hand
4. Use Uni-Zombie and Mezuki to Link summon Crystron Needlefiber, then use his effect to special summon Plaguespreader Zombie from deck
5. Banish Mezuki to special summon Gozuki from graveyard
6. Use Gozuki 1st effect to send another Mezuki from your deck to graveyard

2. Use Uni-Zombie 2nd effect to increase his level by one by sending Gozuki from deck to graveyard, so Uni-Zombie's level become 4
3. This will trigger Gozuki ;2nd effect, banish Solitaire to special summon Mezuki from your hand
4. Use Uni-Zombie and Mezuki to Link summon Crystron Needlefiber, then use his effect to special summon Glow-up Bulb from deck
5. Activate Brilliant Fusion, then send Gem-Knight Garnet and Wulf, Lightsworn Beast from deck to graveyard to fusion summon Gem-Knight Seraphinite, then Wulf will special summon himself from graveyard
6. Banish Mezuki to special summon Gozuki from graveyard
7. Use Gozuki 1st effect to send another Mezuki from your deck to graveyard
8. Banish second Mezuki to special summon Uni-Zombie from graveyard
9. Use Uni-Zombie and Seraphinite to Synchro summon PSY-Framelord Omega
10. Use Gozuki and Glow-up Bulb to Synchro summon Naturia Beast

Tips #1

Try to banish Shiranui Solitaire and one other Shiranui when using Fairy Tail - Snow effect, and you can special summon the other Shiranui in your field, even the Sychro monster. But you can't special summon Synchro monster that summoned by Shiranui Spectralsword's effect, because that monster wasn't summoned through Synchro summon. Also take a note, you can only use this effect of Shiranui Solitaire once per turn

Tips #2

If you don't add other Link monster like Decode Talker, You will have very limited space for extra monster, so it's okay if you banish your XYZ monster for Fairy Tail - Snow's effect, of course after you use the XYZ monster effect

Shiranui-Zombie-Lightsworn Key Cards

Key Card #1 Uni-Zombie

A zombie-foolish-burial and tuner in one card. With Uni-Zombie effect, you can easily get Mezuki or Gozuki in graveyard with this card. You can also increase monster level, which mean easy access to level 8 Synchro like PSY-Framelord Omega ;or Shiranui Shogunsaga

Key Card #2 Mezuki

Monster Reborn for zombies, and the best part is, it isn't once per turn. So you don't need Book of Life for this deck, giving space for more important cards. You can reshuffle this card with effect of PSY-Framelord Omega or Bujinki Amaterasu. Plus Mezuki is an Earth monster, which mean you can go for Naturia Beast, a good card for preventing opponents to use Spell or Pendulum

Key Card #3 Gozuki

An old OCG card that finally printed in TCG. This card also has a zombie-foolish-burial effect, which mean you have so many ways to send zombie monster with this deck. Gozuki can also special summon zombie from your hand, by banishing zombie monster, and even better if you banishing a Shiranui monster. Also another possibility for Naturia Beast

Shiranui-Zombie-Lightsworn Weakness

Even though Shiranui won't get problem against banish-effect cards, but the other zombie and Lightsworn still need graveyard to bring their potential. So this deck will still weaken if faced cards like Macro Cosmos, Dimensional Fissure, or Masked HERO Dark Law. Adding more Shiranui Spiritmaster will help you get rid of those cards.

Another Card Recommendation

If you play in real life you can Crystron Needlefiber replace with Decode Talker or for extra PSY-Framelord Omega, because with Uni-Zombie combo we can easily summon double Omega. Since this deck run many level 2 tuner, you can add another level 6 Synchro like Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, Stardust Change Warrior, Goyo Predator, Coral Dragon, or else. Or even Archfiend Zombie-Skull, because we can summon him with Shiranui Spectralsword's effect. Changing monster type with Zombie World is also a good idea, because you can only attack with Zombies if you activate Uni-Zombie effect. Shiranui Style Synthesis also good because this is also a Shiranui Deck. And for last recommendation, Golden Sarcophagus to acquire Shiranui effect quickly.
