Darklord Eater Deck Profile Link Format January 2018

Darklord has become an unique since their debut in GX era. Around 2016, they had many support and become one of favorite deck at the time. With Darklord, it's possible to have high level monster only in our deck, making Darklord feared of their high ATK beatdown combo. Darklord also known as their powerful draw power, making their combo comes faster. And in Link era, Darklord comes to shine once more with the help of Level Eater.

About Darklord Archetype

Darklord, also know as Fallen Angel (堕だ天てん使し Datenshi) in Japanese version, are all Dark Fairy type monster, most of them are high level monster. Debuted in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga, used by Midori Hibiki. Darklord deck mostly focused on sending Darklord to graveyard then reviving them. This is why it's possible to run a deck with only high level monster.

All new high level Darklord (except Darklord Morningstar) has same following effect :  "During either player's turn: You can pay 1000 LP, then target 1 "Darklord" Spell/Trap Card in your Graveyard; this effect becomes that target's effect when that card is activated, then shuffle that target into the Deck". With this effect, we don't need to pay for Darklord Trap cost, because their effect only copy the activation.

But this archetype in not overpower. Because most of high level Darklord have "You can only Special Summon "CARD NAME" once per turn" effect, makes it difficult to Xyz Summon with this archetype (except for Rank 8). But if we use Soul Charge, it still possible to summon multiple copies of the same card in one turn, as long they're summoned at the same time.

Darklord Eater Play-style

Similar to Blue-eyes eater, the main strategy is sending Level Eater to graveyard as soon as possible, then summoning 2 Darklords from graveyard with help from Superbia. This deck is worse (in a good way) than Blue-eyes Eater, because it's possible to summon several Darklord or Kristya with Firewall Dragon effect. You can see my video about Darklord Eater here :

Darklord Eater Deck Tips and Combos

Combo

Cards needed : Armagedon Knight, Darklord Superbia, Darklord Ixchel, Darklord Contract

1. Use Darklord Ixchel to discard herself and Darklord Superbia to graveyard, then draw two cards
2. Normal summon Armageddon Knight, then use his effect to send Level Eater from deck to graveyard
3. Use Darklord Contract to special summon Superbia from graveyard, then use Superbia's effect to revive Ixchel
4. Special summon Level Eater by decreasing Superbia level to seven
5. Use Level Eater to link summon Linkuriboh
6. Special summon Level Eater by decreasing Superbia level to six
7. Use Level Eater and Linkuriboh to link summon Proxy Dragon
8. Special summon Level Eater by decreasing Superbia level to five

Tips #1

Except Superbia and Zerato, remember that you can only special summon each Darklord once per turn. This also include special summon by Firewall Dragon effect

Tips #2

Armageddon knight is more useful in this deck that Blue-eyes eater. You can also send Darklord monster from deck to graveyard. Remember that you need at least 2 Darklord monsters and a Level Eater in graveyard to make good combo

Tips #3

If you use Darklord monster effect to activate Darklord Contract from graveyard, you can't use Superbia effect when he revived by this effect. Somehow it miss its timing.

Tips #4

If you use Darklord monster effect to activate any Darklord trap from graveyard, you don't need to pay the cost of the Darklord trap that you target

Darklord Eater Key Cards

Key Card #1 Level Eater

One purpse : link spam. You must send this card to graveyard as soon as possible, You can send this card by using Armageddon knight or Mathematician. You can spam more link because Darklord has more higher level monster that Blue-eyes

Key Card #2 Darklord Superbia

The main reason you can have 2 Darklord monster in your field. Together with Level Eater you can make very powerful board, at least 2 Firewall Dragon. You can also special summon multiple copies of Superbia, which mean bonus beatdown or more target for Level Eater

Key Card #3 Darklord Ixchel

Requirement to make good combo is at least two Darklord monsters in graveyard. With this card and any other Darklord monster in your hand, you'll instantly get two Darklord monsters in graveyard, plus two draw. Works best with Superbia. This is the best choice for Banishment of the Darklords.

Weakness

Anti-special summon of course, and also card banish. When you have no graveyard, you can't special summon any Darklord, which mean you can't make any link monster. The only strong monster that you can really use is Nasten, but 2600 ATK is not high enough. This deck will use almost all resources from Extra Deck. So be aware of Evenly Matched, Raigeki, Dark Hole, or any other card that can clean the board. Because you can only use this deck combo once per duel.

Another Card Recommendation

Soul charge is a good choice for this deck, you can special summon more than one copies of the same card with this card. More link spam with the famous Grinder Golem, just in case you can't get Level Eater in graveyard. Its token can also used for Linkuriboh effect. And don't forget to add Security Dragon so you can make powerfull board with only Grinder Golem. Plus, Grinder Golem can be used for Trade-in or Allure in Darkness for more Draw Power.

Your opponent get first turn and summon annoying monster? Just kaiju it! Gamaciel is the best choice, because it also good target for Trade-in. Foolish Burial also a good option to send Level Eater or any Darklord monster to graveyard quickly.
