Pendulum Magician Deck Link Format November 2017

Pendulum Magician became everyone favorite since Z-Arc released by Konami. Not only because they can easily summon Z-Arc, but also their ability to pendulum summoned from extra deck. And not forget their special ability when destroyed by any means, even negated before by card like Solemn Warning. But duelist cannot abuse this anymore because of new Master Rule. Even we have a Link Monster, we can only special summon up to three and that situation can be done if only we have Link Monster with three Link marker pointed down. But it doesn't mean Pendulum Magician is not good anymore.

About Pendulum Magician Archetype

Actually, the official name for this archetype is only "Magician" (魔ま術じゅつ師し, Majutsushi). Due to their Japanese names, a number of older cards, such as "Time Wizard" and "Night Wing Sorceress", also fall into this archetype. Also, several older cards, such as the "Dark Magician" archetype and "Magician of Faith", include "Magician" in their English names but are not part of this archetype.

So to avoiding this confusion, many duelist name this archetype as Pendulum Magician. All of the monster are pendulum, so you can use them as monster card and as "Spell" card. This archetype become much powerful with the release of "Z-Arc Magician" or some people say "Four Dragon's Magician". This new four magician are based on the Four Dimension Dragons. They are all Level 4 monsters who each possess both an Attribute and a Pendulum Effect that mimics their respective Dragon's effect at the cost of destroying themselves, and are always treated as one of those Dragon's archetype. By banishing these four cards from hand, field, or graveyard with Astrograph Magician or Chronograph Sorcerer on the field, you can Fusion Summon Z-Arc. Pendulum Magician Play-style in Link Era

Thanks to Heavymetalfoes Electrum and Crystron Needlefiber, this deck become more powerful. Maybe less powerful than SPYRAL, but very fun to play. Because you can still make powerful board even if your opponent clear your board in previous turn. Just with 4 pendulum monsters in hand (3 if you have Harmonizing Magician) you can make a powerful board with Electrum. Just swarm your monster, and make powerful synchro or xyz. Pendulum Magician Deck Tips and Combos

Combo #1

Cards needed : Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, Duelist Alliance

First normal summon Performapal Skullcrobat Joker. use its effect to add Wisdom-Eye Magician from deck. Set Wisdom-Eye Magician to Pendulum Card Zone and activate Duelist Alliance to add Iris Magician from deck. Set Iris Magician to Pendulum Card Zone. Then activate Wisdom-Eye Magician effect to destroy itself so you Purple Poison Magician can add to Pendulum Card Zone. Pendulum Summon Wisdom-Eye Magician from Extra Deck. Use both of your monster to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrum. Use Heavymetalfoes Electrum effect to add Astropgraph Magician from Deck to Extra Deck in face up. Use Heavymetalfoes Electrum effect to destroy Iris Magician and add Astropgraph Magician from Extra Deck to your hand. Because your card is destroyed, this will trigger Astropgraph Magician effect to special summon itself. With this combo you'll have +1 Draw, 1 Star Pendulumgraph/Time Pendulumgraph, and 1 Iris Magician in your hand.

Combo #2

Cards needed : Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, Duelist Alliance, Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring or Ghost Orge & Snow Rabbit
First normal summon Performapal Skullcrobat Joker. use its effect to add Wisdom-Eye Magician from deck. Set Wisdom-Eye Magician to Pendulum Card Zone and activate Duelist Alliance to add Iris Magician from deck. Set Iris Magician to Pendulum Card Zone. Then activate Wisdom-Eye Magician effect to destroy itself so you Purple Poison Magician can add to Pendulum Card Zone. Pendulum Summon Wisdom-Eye Magician,  Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, and 1 Tuner. Use your Tuner and Wisdom-Eye Magician of your monster to Link Summon Crystron Needlefiber. Use Crystron Needlefiber effect to special summon Glow-up Bulb from your deck. Use Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and Glow-up Bulb to Synchro Summon Naturia Beast. In your opponent's turn, you can banish to special summon Crystron Quandum, then immediately use it with Performapal Skullcrobat Joker to Synchro Summon Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing.

Tips #1

Don't use Pendulum Call if you plan to use Heavymetalfoes Electrum or Wisdom-Eye Magician effect. Because you won't use their effect perfectly.

Tips #2

Don't forget you have so many option to destroy your own Magician Pendulum cards. You have : Ignister Prominence, Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, Heavymetalfoes Electrum, Wavering Eyes, and Time Pendulumgraph.

Pendulum Magician Key Cards

Key Card #1 Performapal Skullcrobat Joker

Search any Pendulum Magician with no cost or any requirement, just normal summon it. With only Duelist Alliance or any Pendulum Magician you can make powerful board.

Key Card #2 Wisdom-Eye Magician

Easy access to other pendulum scale that you need, so you can do Pendulum Summon faster. Also you can Pendulum Summon this card from Extra Deck after using its effect. Then use this monster with other to make powerful monster from Extra Deck.

Key Card #3 Heavymetalfoes Electrum

Very easy to summon because almost every monster in this deck are Pendulum. Giving access to another Extra Deck Monster with its Link Marker. And you can search powerful Pendulum Monster like Astropgraph Magician from deck, also you can add it to your hand by destroying one of your card. See? Double benefit.

Weakness

One word, I mean, one phrase : summon-negater. Imagine you do Pendulum Summon and your opponent activate Solemn Warning, your pendulum will send to graveyard. Once your monster in graveyard (or worse : banished) you can't have access to them, except for Glow-up Bulb. You'll have much trouble too if you face Monarch-user.

Another Card Recommendation

If you love Supreme King Dragon Z-Arc and want to summon it, just add more White Wing Magician and Black Fang Magician, replace them Pot of Desires and some Ghost Ogre. You also can add Supreme King Dragon Starve Venom just on case your Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing is destroyed, or imagine two of them on the field.  Oafdragon Magician also good for add pendulum card from Extra Deck to your hand, because you can't really swarm pendulum from extra deck anymore.
